1. Determine the day to begin your testing (see 'When to start testing' or information provided in the testing kit). Bring the pouch to room temperature before opening it.2. Remove the midstream test from the sealed pouch and use it within 1 hour.3. Remove the cap and place it over the thumb grip. 4. Hold the midstream test by the capped thumb grip with the exposed absorbent tip pointing downwards directly into your urine stream for at least 10-15 seconds until it is thoroughly wet.5. After removing the midstream test from your urine, immediately replace the cap over the absorbent tip. Lay the test on a flat surface with the results window facing upwards, then begin the timer. 6. As the test begins to work, you may notice a light-coloured flow moving across the test and control window. Read the results at 3 minutes, if no result appears then wait one more minute. Do not read the result after 10 minutes.

Luteinizing hormone (LH) is the hormone that is produced by the body immediately prior to ovulation. This then triggers the release of a ripened egg from the ovary. A surge in LH usually takes place in the middle of the menstrual cycle. This test kit contains 5 tests. This ensures you can take the test over several days to find when you're at your most fertile. The kit also contains a 'when to start testing chart' that can help you to calculate when you should start testing.

Q: When to start testing

1. You first need to determine the length of your menstrual cycle. This is the number of days from the first day of your period to the last day before the next period starts. 2. Now you will need to determine the time to begin your testing. To do this, find the menstrual cycle length on the first row of the chart, and read the corresponding number in the second row. This is the number of days after your period to begin testing your ovulation levels. 3. Use the sample calendar provided to determine the day you will need to begin testing. The first urine you pass in the morning should not be used to test for LH. For the best results, you should test around the same time each day and reduce your liquid intake approximately 2 hours before testing.
