Ventolin is a bronchodilator that relaxes muscles in the airways and increases air flow to the lungs. Ventolin HFA is used to treat or prevent bronchospasm in people with reversible obstructive airway disease. It is also used to prevent exercise-induced bronchospasm. Ventolin HFA is for use in adults and children who are at least 4 years old.
Ventolin HFA may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide. Follow all directions on your medicine label and package. Tell each of your healthcare providers about all your medical conditions, allergies, and all medicines you use. You should not use Ventolin if you are allergic to albuterol. To make sure Ventolin is safe for you, tell your doctor if you have ever had:
- heart disease, high blood pressure, or congestive heart failure;
- a seizure disorder such as epilepsy;
- diabetes; or
- an overactive thyroid.
It is not known whether Ventolin will harm an unborn baby. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. Albuterol can pass into breast milk and may harm a nursing baby. You should not breastfeed while using this medicine. Ventolin HFA inhalation aerosol can contain phenylalanine. Talk to your doctor before using this form of albuterol if you have phenylketonuria (PKU). Ventolin HFA is not approved for use by anyone younger than 4 years old.
How should I use Ventolin?
Follow all directions on your prescription label and read all medication guides or instruction sheets. Use exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not use in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
A typical inhaler contains 200 doses of medicine. After you have used all 200 doses, the inhaler will feel empty. Get your prescription refilled before you run out of medicine completely.
Prime the inhaler device before first use by pumping 2 test sprays into the air, away from your face. Prime the inhaler if it has been more than 2 weeks since you last used it. To do so, release 4 sprays into the air away from your face, shaking well before each spray.
The medicine in the Ventolin HFA inhaler passes into breast milk. While it is unlikely to harm a nursing infant, talk with your doctor if you have concerns.
Do not allow a young child to use Ventolin without help from an adult. The inhaler may suddenly stop delivering medication if not properly cleaned and maintained. Shake the Ventolin inhaler for at least 10 seconds before each spray. Prime the inhaler if it has been more than 2 weeks since you last used it.
Clean your inhaler once a week by removing the canister and placing the mouthpiece under warm running water for at least 30 seconds. Allow the parts to air dry before putting the inhaler back together.
This is a quick process and should only take 1 - 2 minutes. All of your answers are confidential, and just like a GP consultation, you will know what treatment is most suitable for you instantly upon completion.
Once you have completed the quick online form, select the treatment option most suitable to you and checkout securely.
We will dispatch your order using our express next-day courier service from our pharmacy partners across the UK. You will receive your treatment discreetly to the comfort of your home/ selected address.
