How to use a Flixotide Accuhaler?

The recommended starting dose for adults is 100 micrograms twice a day to treat asthma, however, in presence of other factors, this may be increased or decreased accordingly as per the prescriber's clinical judgement.
For adults:
- For mild asthma - The usual starting dose is 100 micrograms twice a day.
- For moderate to severe asthma - The usual starting dose is 250 to 500 micrograms twice a day
- The most taken should be 1000 micrograms twice a day.
Instructions:
- Stand or sit upright and start to breathe as slowly as possible right before using your inhaler
- Remove the cover and shake the inhaler 4 or 5 times
- Hold the inhaler upright and breathe out as far as is comfortable. Do not breathe in again yet
- Put the mouthpiece in your mouth between your teeth and close your lips. Do not bite
- Breathe in through your mouth and just after starting to breathe in, press down on the top of the canister to release a puff of medicine. Do this while breathing in steadily and deeply
- Hold your breathe and take the inhaler from your mouth
- Continue holding your breath for a few seconds.
Do not use your inhaler more often than the doctor told you to.
