Description
DuoResp Spiromax Inhaler for Asthma & Breathing Problems
Asthma and Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) are breathing conditions that primarily affect the lungs and can cause a range of breathing difficulties. Asthma often occurs after exposure to a trigger, however, it can happen randomly. Triggers may include common allergies to pollen or animal dander, infections, environmental changes or from exercise.
The DuoResp Spiromax Inhaler is a powder inhaler used for adults with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or asthma. It is available only on prescription, and higher-strength inhalers are also available. This is a preventer inhaler.
What is a DuoResp Spiromax Inhaler and how does it work?
The two active ingredients in this inhaler are budesonide and formoterol fumarate dihydrate. Budesonide is a corticosteroid, and it controls the overactive immune system. It causes a decrease in the production of inflammatory mediator histamine, which is responsible for the blockage of airways.
Formoterol is a beta 2 agonist (long-acting). It is attached to the beta 2 receptors in the airway muscles and causes the muscles to relax to facilitate easy breathing.

For how long a steroid inhaler can be used?
It depends upon the manufacturer's recommendations. But, commonly, a steroid inhaler should be replaced at least every 6 months.
Which is better? A dry powder inhaler (DPI) or a metered dose inhaler (MDI)?
The studies have shown that the degree of bronchodilation in both inhalers is the same. However, the DPIs are easy to use and are associated with fewer irritant defects.
Can I use DuoResp Spiromax Inhaler during pregnancy?
The use of steroid inhalers is not recommended in pregnancy. However, it can be used if prescribed by the doctor after weighing its benefits against the risks. The steroid Budesonide is also excreted in breast milk.
Can DuoResp Spiromax Inhaler cause weight gain?
It has a corticosteroid among the active ingredients, which works similarly to the body's natural corticosteroids and causes an increase in appetite. So, a long-term user is expected to experience some weight gain.
Is long-term use of inhalers good for my lungs?
Inhalers are commonly used. However, constant use of inhalers can cause the lungs to become less responsive to the medications. Moreover, the airways also become very sensitive to common asthma triggers.
How can I purchase the DuoResp Spiromax Inhaler?
You can purchase it on prescription from all pharmacies. You can also order it online after consultation with Welzo Health professionals.
