Elestat (eprstenant) is a synthetic version of the interferon protein. Your body uses interferon to combat viral infections.

Dosages

Chemical Structure

An artificial version of interferon alpha-2B is called elestat. It is 183 amino acids long and 21 kDa in molecular weight.

Alternatives to Elestat

Elestat has a lot of substitutes available. Other interferon proteins like interferon alfa-2a and alfa-2b are among them, as are antiviral medications like acyclovir and valacyclovir.

Is acyclovir more effective than Elestat?

Both Elestat and Acyclovir work well to treat viral infections. But since acyclovir is more effective and has a shorter half-life, it is more frequently used.

What’s the difference between Elestat and interferon alfa-2b?
