What is Soolantra Cream?

Soolantra is a topical prescription medication for acne rosacea. It works as an anti-inflammatory to reduce blemishes and treat spots and pimples.

What is Soolantra Cream?

Soolantra Cream is an anti-inflammatory cream that can be applied as a lotion on the skin's surface for the treatment of acne (pimples), spots and blemishes. 

How does it work?

Soolantra Cream contains the ingredient ivermectin which acts as an anti-inflammatory as well as kills parasites (demodex mites) which have been linked as a cause of acne and rosacea.

Is Soolantra Cream right for me?

If you have mild to moderate acne, Soolantra Cream can work as an acne treatment. It will help to clear up acne within 8-12 weeks and reduce the appearance of spots on the skin.

How to use Soolantra Cream?

Always use Soolantra Cream exactly as prescribed by your doctor or as advised by the pharmacist. 

  • Gently wash and dry your skin then apply a thin layer of Soolantra Cream on the entire face. Make-up can be applied once the lotion has dried.
  • After using Soolantra Cream, wash your hands properly. Avoid getting the cream around or in the eyes, mouth and nose. Not intended for internal use. 
  • Soolantra Cream may be applied once a day for up to 3 months, treatment length varies as recommended by your provider.
  • Soolantra Cream use is not suitable for adolescents or children.

Dosage

Commonly Used Dosage Guidelines for Soolantra Cream

Apply a pea-sized amount thinly, ONCE daily to each reddened area of the face for up to 16 weeks, repeat if symptoms return.

Warning and Precautions

Soolantra Cream may not be safe if used with certain medications or recreational drugs. Please inform the prescriber if you are taking any of the listed medications.

DO NOT use Soolantra Cream:

  • If you are allergic to any ingredients found in Soolantra Cream, such as ivermectin, or other medicine. Soolantra Cream also contains stearyl alcohol, cetyl alcohol, propyl parahydroxybenzote, methyl parahydroxybenzoate and propylene glycol, which may cause varying effects on the skin. 
  • If worsening symptoms occur and continue after 1 week of the treatment, please talk to your provider. 
  • If you are breastfeeding, pregnant or believed to be pregnant, the use of Soolantra Cream is not recommended but consult with a doctor for advice.
  • If you have issues with your liver, consult a doctor before use.
