What is Fybogel?
Fybogel is a laxative medication used to treat constipation. The Fybogel comes in sachets that are combined with water to create a high-fibre drink that you take morning and evening.
How does it work?
The Fybogel contains the ingredient ispaghula husk which works to add fluid into the stool to make it softer and therefore easier to move out of the body.
Is Fybogel suitable for me?
If you're experiencing difficulty with constipation you should consider trying a laxative. Fybogel usually takes 2 or 3 days to work.
Dosage
Commonly Used Dosage Guidelines for Fybogel.
Mix 1 sachet in a full glass of water, morning and evening 30 minutes before food. An additional sachet may also be taken 30 minutes before a midday meal.
Side Effects
All medications can cause potential side effects, below we have listed some potential side effects, however, these do not always occur.
- Wind
- Bloating
- Mild allergic reaction (itchy eyes, nose and skin)

Fybogel is a high-fibre solution that you add to water and drink in the morning and evening, usually after a meal. It can take up to 2 to 3 days to work but is an effective treatment for constipation.
